The Vidarbha Association of Pathologists and Microbiology held its 6th annual conference VAPCON-2023, on 7th and 8th of January at Hotel centre point in the city. It was attended by more than 300 delegates from all over India. Dr. Purnima Kodate , President VAPM in her welcome address reiterated the fact that a multidisciplinary approach is the need of the hour. A good coordination between pathologists and clinicians may result in successful outcome for patient management. Dr. Nitin Gangane Dean MGIMS Sewagram, Vice Chancellor KLE UNIVERSITY , Belgaum was the chief guest. He proposed that all Medical colleges should train postgraduates in latest technologies. Dr. Vinod Shidham internationally renowned cytopathologist, professor vice chair AP-Vice chair AP director, Detroit Medical centre and Karmanos Cancer centre , Detroit Michigan USA, was the guest of honour. Various Orations and cme were conducted as apart of a 2 day academic conference. Prestigious Dr. M. T. Paithankar oration was conferred upon Dr. Avinash Pophali , BMT Consultant and Director CIIHO, Nagpur. He enlightened the audiences about various investigative modalities for hematological malignancies. Dr. Sandeep Mathur professor from prestigious AIIMS , New DELHI was keynote speaker for Dr. Lalit Jain CME. He spoke on various types of premalignant and malignant lesions of Female Genital tract. He conducted a slide seminar of rare and interesting cases. Dr. Vinod Shidham delivered SMT . Sunanada Shidham CME lecture about diagnosing malignancies in Serous Effusions. An interesting panel discussion was held by Dr. RasikaGadkari, Dr. Shidham, Medical Oncologist Dr. Sushil Mandhaniya and Interventional Radiologist Dr. GauravMutha.
